lately I have been a little bored and uninspired (I have barely written/drawn in my moleskines) so I felt like posting some of my favourite role models -- style, attitude, whatever. They are so awesome in every way, and they honestly are the most bad-ass babes around.

DEBBIE HARRY: lead singer of Blondie, another one of my favorite bands. The original badass babe, looks good in smeary red lipstick, messy hair, and crazy wet'n'wild eyeliner. Also wrote "heart of glass", which is a really really good driving-around type of song.



COURTNEY LOVE: self-explanatory, almost. Basically perfected the entire I-don't-give-a-shit attitude and style. Widow of kurt cobain, one of my teenage crushes. Shows she has excellent taste in men. Also coined the term KINDERWHORE, and generated a bunch of ripped-tulle wearing teens. Did I mention she's the lead singer of Hole? Yeah.



NANCY SPUNGEN: girlfriend of sid vicious! Colour me jealous. Also she was pretty crazy on her own. If you are badass enough for sid, then you are badass enough for me.



ANN + NANCY WILSON: the sister duo who made up Heart. Really good, and super talented, juss sayin'.



JOAN JETT: craaazy. very cool. Except that Kirsten Stewart is playing her in the biopic. FUCK THAT.



GRACE SLICK: MY ULTIMATE BAD-ASS. She isn't really a bad-ass, but come onnn she was the lead singer for JEFFERSON AIRPLANE? Like, really, she is fantastic and has the best voice I have heard in a long time. 60s babe, and you know it.

Perfect.

So lately I have been thinking about peoples quirks and have been trying to unleash the romantic inside me. So here for you is my perfect date:

One thing that I loved to do when I was younger was make forts. So I'm pretty sure the perfect date would revolve around an epic fort! This fort will consist of many blankets and squishy pillows for maximum comfort (and cuddle time) as well as candles! Inside we would have possibly a television so we could watch old movies and sketch books to doodle and play games.

Another possibility is a stereo to listen to some mellow music. It would be a perfect day of getting to know somebody.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN: DAY THREE

exams are done! Sorry for missing one day of our countdown... and also excuse my insane 5:00 AM rant from earlier.. I was literally and absolutely insane and crazy. I stayed at my school for 28 hours (really) to study for my statistics final this morning. So now it's time for some chillaaaaxin' and relaaaxin' so um today I wanna talk about the good stuff that happened like me finally buying some moleskine notebooks (4 -- count 'em) and then some walking downtown around 17th avenue, which I haven't been to in a loooong time.

I'm really feeling like getting a christmas tree.

festive shit.. um I think we all need to have some christmas lights around the house, especially in my neighbourhood. Also I ran into kara and drew -- both of whom I haven't seen in a looong time. So another festive thing is friends and family. Don't take it for granted

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN: DAY TWO

I feel hungry today so today's theme is christmas food. I was googling for some tasty christmas desserts (because that's really the only thing to eat during the holidays) and I found the food network's 12 days of cookies! It kind of fits this theme I suppoose. Anyways, not related to the 12 days of cookies, but I found some sweet recipes for CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE CANDY CANE BARS and some BOOZE BALLS for you 18+ kids. AN X-MAS TO-DO LIST

Now that I'm a student, there is now a lot of free time for me -- BOOYA. But besides working and partying, there's also a lot of things I need to do! So, this list is crafted by the little brains of my dear Emma, Shelby + me. I suggest you people do some of these things too:

WINTER:
- go skating
- go eat tubby dog (hopefully they have an x-mas dog)
- have a day of coffee/tea and talking
- bake some festive cookies
- go to zoolights
- get high
- so sledding
- have a snowball fight
- make some legit hot chocolate
- make chocolate rum balls
- mall photos with Santa Claus
- get cuddly with someone
- have a christmas movie/wintery movie marathon (miracle on 34th street, elf, rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, island of misfit toys, etc.)
- snow driving in calgary
- NEW YEAR'S EVE (and all that come with it)

SUMMER:
- road trippin' with the buds, talking + crying + having heart-to-hearts on the way
- music festivalin' (aka. sled island, folk fest, coachella, lollapalooza, sirens, glastonbury, etc.)
- have some more tubby dog
- make some delicious summer alcoholic drinks for us 18+ kids
- water fights (water guns, water balloons, hoses)
- go swimming
- loungin' in mexico
- move OUT
- paint a little
- take some fantastic photos
- tree-climbing
- river-rafting

I am completely obsessed with his enamel and acrylic works. I especially love the color palette he uses! They would look amazing in my room, sadly I am much too poor to afford them.

His work is SO inspiring and I definitely would like to incorporate something Kelsey-esque into one of my next pieces!
